RMCA Homeschool Program Information

We are excited to invite all Colorado home educated students grades K-12, regardless of district of residence, to join our program! For K-8 students we offer a one day a week fun, academic and content rich program that works in partnership and compliments the goals of home schooling families. We offer classes that are hard to replicate at home. High school students are offered core classes and attend one or two days, with a minimum of 4 courses required. Parents are responsible for electives and fulfilling additional High School requirements. Options for concurrent college credit, transcript assistance, and counseling are available.
 
Students must be five by 10/1/2022 for kindergarten
and six by 10/1/2022 for first grade.
 
Last day of enrollment is October 1st, 2022
 
NOTE: Families may only enroll in ONE
publicly funded program in Colorado per year

PROGRAM DATES:
High School: August 4, 2022 to May 5, 2023
K-8: August 15, 2022 to May 5, 2023
 
SCHEDULE: High School: 8:00 – 3:00 pm Thursdays or Fridays, depending upon classes
K-6th Grades: 8:00 – 3:00 pm Monday – Thursday
7th & 8th Grades: 8:00 - 3:00 pm Friday only
UNIFORMS: All RMCA students wear uniforms in compliance with Board policy. High school students wear a polo shirt and jeans.
STANDARDIZED TESTING: ITBS testing is provided free of charge for grades 2nd - 11th. PSAT testing is provided for students enrolled in grades 7th-11th for a fee.
 
VAN RIDES AVAILABLE:   A school van transports students to and from Woodland Park on Wednesdays and Pueblo on Thursday. *Days subject to change.

CURRENT K-8 Grade CLASSES
We offer interactive, hands-on learning experiences for K-8.
 
Each day includes:
K-8 Monthly character trait
K-8 Language Arts (writing, novel studies and research papers for 3rd-8th)
K-8 Hands-on science, including dissection for 2nd-8th
K-8 Critical thinking skills
K-8 Skills based PE and emphasis on team sports for 7th/8th
K-6: Lego engineering (alternates with PE)
K-8 Art (systematic study of artists, techniques and art projects, and Spring Showcase)
K-5 Music instruction and performances

(Students may also participate in sports, and other extra curricular activities, at the full time RMCA campus.)

CURRENT 9-12 Grade CLASSES

Our high school program is designed to provide an atmosphere that fosters growth in maturity, a strong foundation of character and an opportunity to develop the necessary study and personal habits needed to be successful in the future.  After the foundation is built, our program becomes a stepping stone to other options that your high school student may pursue such as concurrent college enrollment, CLEP testing, etc., to complete their transcript.  We have an active Student Council with monthly social activities. 

 

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Potential Students must pass entrance exams to show high school readiness in both math and English, must be passed in order to be admitted to our program. Limited space available.

 

ENGLISH AND COMPOSITION:  American Composition and Literature, World Composition and Literature, English 11/12 Composition and Literature

 

HISTORY/SOCIAL STUDIES:  U.S. History, World History, U.S. Government (one semester) and Speech (one semester)

 

MATH:  Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus

 

SCIENCE:  Forensic Science, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, and Physics

 

ELECTIVES:  Leadership I and II (for Student Council members only - required), Personal Finance (1 semester), and College and Career Readiness (if the schedule permits).

 

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: Student Government, Sweatshirts, yearbook, Winter Party/Dance, Spring Formal, & other events.

HOW TO START
THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS:  

The enrollment process begins when a parent submits a signed Letter of Intent (LOI) to Enroll form to our office.
